About ZOZO Marine Stadium

Circular in plan and modelled on the multi-purpose American ballparks of its era, the Chiba ground opened in April 1990 with a Madonna concert on her Blond Ambition tour; the 13 April show was hit by heavy rain, thunder and high winds. Roughly 30,000 can watch baseball here, with centre field 122 metres from home plate and a 3.3-metre outfield fence. Grass gave way to MS Craft Baseball Turf in 2018. Roki Sasaki threw Nippon Professional Baseball's sixteenth perfect game on the ground in April 2022, and the Summer Sonic festival returns each year.
