About WWK Arena
Augsburg's football moved from the Rosenaustadion to a purpose-built arena in 2009, when the ground opened under the name Impuls Arena. Naming rights passed to SGL Carbon in 2011 and to the insurer WWK in 2015. Capacity is 30,660, combining 19,060 seats with 11,034 standing places, and the venue is described as the first climate-neutral football stadium in the world, tempered by heat pumps and bio natural gas. It hosted matches at the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup and the 2011 Women's World Cup; expansion towards 49,000 remains possible.
