About Wanderers Grounds
Leased in the 1800s to the Wanderers Amateur Athletic Club for rugby and lawn bowling, this corner of the Halifax Common passed to the municipality after the club fell behind on its lease during the Second World War. Cricket, baseball, soccer and rugby have all been played on the grass since. Modular stands erected when HFX Wanderers FC joined the Canadian Premier League in 2019 have been enlarged more than once, and the ground now seats 7,500. The Halifax Regional Municipality remains the owner.
Home club
HFX Wanderers FC is a Canadian professional football club from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a founding member of the Canadian Premier League.
