About Tynecastle Park
Hearts settled on the present Gorgie site in 1886, five years after first moving into the district. Archibald Leitch designed the grandstand raised in 1914, and by the early 1930s the ground could take crowds approaching 54,000; a Scottish Cup tie with Rangers in 1932 drew a record 53,396. It became Scotland's first all-concrete stadium in 1954 and gained floodlights three years later. Three stands were demolished and rebuilt between 1994 and 1997, and a new main stand finished in November 2017 set capacity at 19,852 and restored the Tynecastle Park name.
