About Turner Stadium

Named after Yaakov Turner, a former mayor of the city, the ground opened on 21 September 2015 with a goalless draw against Maccabi Haifa. It stands on the northern edge of Be'er Sheva within a wider sports quarter that also holds a 3,000-seat indoor arena, training facilities and a swimming pool. All 16,126 places are seated, and the Israel national team has used it for selected fixtures. In August 2020 the structure was declared dangerous after cracks were found in support beams and bolts worked loose, forcing closure and removal of the roof.
