About Truist Field

Uptown Charlotte regained Triple-A baseball in March 2014 when this 54 million dollar ballpark opened on the former site of the Piedmont and Northern Railway's interurban depot. The Knights had previously played across the state line in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and earlier attempts to return to the city centre had been blocked by legal challenges. Owned by Mecklenburg County and known as BB&T Ballpark until 2020, it seats about 10,200 and quickly gained a reputation as friendly to hitters. It hosted the 2016 Triple-A All-Star Game and the 2021 ACC baseball tournament.
