About Stade Raymond Kopa

Boulevard Pierre-de-Coubertin has hosted Angers football since 1912, when the ground opened as Stade Bessonneau; it became Stade Municipal in 1957, Stade Jean-Bouin in 1968 and took Raymond Kopa's name in 2017, honouring the forward who played for SCO between 1949 and 1951. The city-owned enclosure seats 19,800 around an AirFibr hybrid pitch of 105 by 68 metres. Successive rebuilds in 1957, 1993, 2011 and from 2018 to 2023 reshaped the stands; the attendance record of 22,989 dates from an April 1969 visit by Marseille.
