About Stade Marcel-Tribut

Dunkerque's municipal ground grew out of a 1927 plan to place a sports park at the entrance to the town, opening with about 1,200 seats around a 400-metre running track shared by football, rugby and athletics. Wartime destruction forced a rebuild between 1956 and 1967 that pushed capacity towards 12,000. A further overhaul begun in 2018 and finished in 2021 swept away the standing terrace and embankment, laid a hybrid pitch and left roughly 4,900 covered seats. The record crowd, 11,700, came for a 1971 Coupe de France quarter-final against Lyon.
