About St Andrew's

Built on a former brickworks site in Bordesley, the ground replaced cramped Muntz Street and staged its first match in December 1906, when a huge Spion Kop terrace and a grandstand gave room for something close to 75,000. Luftwaffe bombing and fire wrecked the Main Stand during the Second World War. After a fatal wall collapse in 1985, redevelopment between 1993 and 1999 produced rebuilt Kop, Tilton Road and Railway stands and an all-seater bowl. A SISGrass hybrid pitch was laid in 2017, and repairs for water damage and asbestos followed in the early 2020s.
