About Recreation Park

Alloa Athletic have played on Clackmannan Road since 1895, making the Recreation Park one of the longer-established senior grounds in Scotland. A wooden main stand went up in the 1920s, cover was added to the terracing around 1950, floodlights followed in 1979 and the present main stand opened in 1991. Roughly 919 seats are split between that stand and the Hilton Road end used by visitors, with the remainder open terracing. An artificial pitch was laid before the 2007-08 season and renewed twice since. Celtic drew a record 15,467 here in the 1954-55 Scottish Cup.
