About Pirelli Stadium

Hadfield, Cawkwell and Davidson designed the four single-tier stands on Princess Way: an all-seater South Stand of just over 2,000 seats, with terracing on the other three sides. The £7.2 million ground opened in 2005, built by Burton Albion on land donated by the tyre manufacturer Pirelli in exchange for naming rights. Manchester United provided the opening opposition in November 2005 and returned for an FA Cup tie two months later. The record crowd, 6,746, watched a Championship meeting with Derby County in August 2016.
