About Nou Sardenya

Reconstruction between 1992 and 1995 rebuilt this municipally owned ground and shifted it slightly on its plot, producing the present enclosure of roughly four thousand places, of which about a quarter are seated and under cover. The site, hemmed in by the dense street grid of Barcelona's Gràcia district, dates from December 1940 and had already been reworked several times: a grandstand went up in the mid-1940s, the pitch and terracing were enlarged in 1960, and artificial lighting arrived in 1963. An artificial surface now carries CE Europa's fixtures.
