About Nagyerdei Stadion
Set in Debrecen's Nagyerdő parkland, the asymmetric all-seater replaced a stadium that had stood on the site from 1934 until its demolition in 2013. Work began on 29 January 2013 and finished roughly fifteen months later at a cost near 45 million dollars, with rail seats behind the goals permitting safe standing at domestic fixtures. An all-star exhibition opened it on 1 May 2014; Hungary's national side followed on 22 May, drawing 2-2 with Denmark before about 20,000 spectators.
