About Moselstadion

About a kilometre and a half north of Trier's centre, on land still known locally as the D'Ham, this 10,256-capacity ground was inaugurated in 1930 and acquired its present name after the Second World War. Floodlights were erected in 1998 for a DFB-Pokal semi-final against MSV Duisburg. Promotion to the 2. Bundesliga in 2003 brought an enlarged main grandstand and a new clubhouse, but further expansion plans were dropped once Eintracht Trier dropped back into the lower divisions.
