About Moretz Stadium

Built in 1924 on the Lenoir-Rhyne University campus, this brick-walled Hickory ground is among the oldest in continuous use in NCAA Division II, its low walls separating the 7,200 seats from the playing field. College football and lacrosse share it with Hickory FC. Structural faults found in July 2019 forced removal of the home stand, covered by temporary seating that season before a permanent replacement went up in 2020. National semi-finals were held here in 1960, 1962 and 2013.
