About Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium

Al Jazira's Abu Dhabi home grew from a modest 15,000-seat enclosure into one of the Emirates' larger club venues through successive expansions, half of which were ready for the Arabian Gulf Cup in December 2006. Further building preceded the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, when the grass-pitched ground hosted seven matches including a semi-final. It had earlier staged fixtures at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship and at two editions of the FIFA Club World Cup, and it doubles as a cricket venue.
