About La Rosaleda
Flooding at the old Banos del Carmen ground prompted the move to this site, first used on 13 April 1941 and formally inaugurated that September with a friendly against Sevilla. It was one of seventeen venues at the 1982 World Cup, staging three group matches, and has since hosted Spain internationals, the 2009 Peace Cup and the 2020 women's Copa de la Reina. A rebuild running from 2000 to 2006 met modern safety rules, converting the terraces to seating and adding private boxes, closed-circuit cameras and press facilities. The city, provincial council and Andalusian government now share ownership.
