About Kenilworth Road
The Oak Road entrance runs through a gap cut into a row of houses, a consequence of how tightly the ground fits among the terraced streets of Bury Park. Its first match came on 4 September 1905, a goalless draw with Plymouth Argyle, after the previous landlord sold Dunstable Road for housing. Five stands now enclose the pitch. Major work came in the 1930s and again between 1985 and 1991, when terraces gave way to seats. The record crowd of 30,069 dates from a 1959 FA Cup replay with Blackpool; safe standing arrived in 2024.
