About Jan Breydel Stadium
Built in 1975 in the Sint-Andries district on the western edge of Bruges, the multi-purpose ground was known as the Olympiastadion, or simply Olympia, and originally held 18,000. Renaming and enlargement before UEFA Euro 2000 lifted it to 29,042 seats, and it staged four matches at that tournament in June 2000, three group games and a quarter-final. Unusually, it serves as the shared home of both Club Brugge and Cercle Brugge. In December 2015 the pitch was replaced with Mixto, an Italian hybrid of natural and synthetic grass.
