About Ipurua
Wedged into a narrow valley in Eibar, the ground staged its first match on 14 September 1947 against CD Elgoibar and was the town's first enclosed football venue. Flooding plagued the pitch until drainage work was finished in 1959. A central main stand followed in 1951 and floodlights in 1970, before a rebuild carried out between 1998 and 2001. Promotion to La Liga in 2014 triggered further work: the north stand reopened in 2015 and the east stand in January 2017, and rebuilding the west end from 2018 took the completed ground to 8,164 seats.
