About Holker Street
Land once used as a Furness Railway rubbish tip became Barrow's home in 1909, gaining a wooden stand in 1912 and covered terracing by 1921. A speedway track laid around the pitch in 1972 proved unpopular and was lifted two years later. The all-seater main stand dates from 1998, and a roof went up over the Holker Street End in 2020. The record gate of 16,874 saw an FA Cup third-round tie with Swansea Town on 9 January 1954. Sponsorship made it the SO Legal Stadium from July 2022.
