About Hazza bin Zayed Stadium

Sixteen months of ultra-fast-track construction, begun in June 2012, produced this 25,053-seat arena in Al Ain. The London practice BDP Pattern drew on palm groves for the parasol roof that shades every seat, and LEDs can illuminate the fabric facade panels. The 425 million dirham project was voted Stadium of the Year for 2014. It has since staged the 2017 and 2018 FIFA Club World Cups and eight ties at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, among them the quarter-final against Australia that filled the ground.
