About Groupama Aréna

Demolition of the Flórián Albert Stadium, Ferencváros' home since 1911, cleared the way for this replacement on the same plot in the Ferencváros district of Budapest. Designed by Ágnes Streit and Szabolcs Kormos, it rose in fourteen months from March 2013 at a cost of some 13.5 billion forint and opened on 10 August 2014 with a match against Chelsea. It holds 23,700, trimmed to about 22,000 for international fixtures, and was briefly Hungary's largest ground between 2017 and 2019. The 2019 UEFA Women's Champions League final was played here, and Depeche Mode performed in May 2017.
