About Galabank
Annan Athletic left Mafeking Park for Galabank in 1953, and the compact enclosure has served the Dumfries and Galloway club ever since, staging its first Scottish Cup tie against Stranraer in December 1979. Election to the Scottish Football League in 2008 prompted a round of upgrades, floodlights among them, and the natural pitch was lifted and replaced with a 3G artificial surface for the 2012-13 season. A goalless draw with Rangers in September 2012 drew the record crowd of 2,517. Mid-Annandale and Edusport Academy have both used the ground as tenants.
