About Finley Stadium
Rising on the site of a former industrial plant, the Carter Street venue anchored Chattanooga's Southside redevelopment when it opened in 1997, succeeding Chamberlain Field as home to the Chattanooga Mocs. Roughly 40 percent of the 28.5-million-dollar bill came from private donations, with municipal and state money covering the balance. Designed by Derthick, Henley and Wilkerson, it holds 20,412 and switched to an artificial surface in 2015. The NCAA Division I football championship game was decided here every year until 2009, and the United States met Jamaica in a 2017 friendly.
