About Estadio Pascual Guerrero
Inaugurated on 20 July 1937 for Cali's fourth-centenary festivities, the municipal arena in the San Fernando district opened as the Estadio Departamental, on land donated by the poet Pascual Guerrero. Universidad del Valle has owned the site since 1957. Enlargement for the 1971 Pan American Games brought an Olympic-standard running track, while refurbishment before the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup added executive boxes and trimmed seating to 35,405. Copa América group matches in 2001, the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships and concerts during the December Feria have all been held here.
