About Estadio Juan Francisco Barraza
Three years of work by the contractor Pablo Paredes Lemus y Cia produced this San Miguel ground, which opened on 15 November 1959 with a 1-1 draw between Aguila and the Honduran club Olimpia. Building had begun in November 1956, and the venue was renamed in 1982 after Juan Francisco Barraza, a Salvadoran footballer of the 1950s. The multipurpose arena holds around 14,000 spectators and is shared with Dragon, the city's other professional side; supporters know it as the Nido Aguilucho, or Eaglet's Nest.
Home club
