About Estadio Jalisco
Set in Guadalajara's Colonia Independencia, this ground ranks as Mexico's third-largest football venue, behind only the Azteca and the Estadio Olimpico Universitario. It became a tournament fixture early on, staging preliminary matches at the 1968 Olympics, eight games at the 1970 World Cup including Brazil's 3-1 semi-final win over Uruguay, and six more in 1986. Eight Confederations Cup ties followed in 1999. A 2017 refurbishment renewed seating, roofing and facilities, though a 360-degree screen hung only eight metres up forced one Liga MX fixture to be abandoned.
