About Estadio Florencio Sola

Inaugurated in 1940 with a friendly against Independiente, which the visitors won 1-0, the Banfield ground was only the fourth in Argentina built entirely of cement and the first belonging to a so-called smaller club. Its terraces saw a 49-match unbeaten home run between May 1950 and June 1953. A 2006 rebuild added boxes, dressing rooms and press facilities; work in 2018 renewed the seating, and in 2019 perimeter fencing was removed to fit 2,500 more spectators. Spanish musicians have performed there.
