About Estadio Eladio Rosabal Cordero
Herediano's home in the Cubujuquí district first opened on 21 August 1949, marked by a 3-1 win over Sociedad Gimnástica Española, and served the club for seven decades while hosting domestic finals and international fixtures. Demolition began on 22 July 2020 and a larger replacement has been under construction on the same site since. That project, costed at twelve million dollars and built by the Guatemalan contractor Apsa, has been repeatedly delayed from an original 2021 target, with a fire service review forcing the planned seating figure down to about 12,000.
Home club
Club Sport Herediano is a Costa Rican football club from the city of Heredia, founded in 1921 and one of the traditional powers of the country's game.
