About Estadio Carlos Belmonte

Replacing the older Campo del Parque, the Albacete ground opened on 9 September 1960 with a fixture against Sevilla watched by more than 12,000 people, its capacity then about 10,000. Floodlight pylons followed in 1970, a cover over the west side in 1979 and a twin-decked east stand in 1991. Reconstruction in 1998 removed the athletics track, lowered the pitch and added seating behind both goals, taking the ground to its present 17,524 places.
