About Eamonn Deacy Park
Football in the Terryland district of Galway traces back to a cup tie recorded in 1935, and the Galway Football Association bought the ground in 1950. Floodlights arrived with redevelopment in 1993 and the pitch was relaid a year later. A €500,000 government grant paid for a 1,500-seat stand in 2007, lifting the total to 5,000 with 3,300 of those seated. The venue took its present name in August 2012 in memory of Eamonn Deacy, and it stages roughly a hundred fixtures a year.
