About Dick's Sporting Goods Park

Sitting above 5,200 feet, the Denver venue is the highest-altitude ground in regular MLS use. Excavation started in the autumn of 2005 on a site near the city's former Stapleton airport, and the soccer-specific stadium opened on 7 April 2007 at a construction cost of $64.5 million within a $130 million complex. Commerce City owns the 18,061-seat stadium; Kroenke Sports & Entertainment runs it. The 2007 MLS All-Star Game, the 2014 World Lacrosse Championship and the snowbound 2013 United States-Costa Rica World Cup qualifier were staged here, alongside an annual Phish residency.
