About Deutsche Bank Park

Opened as the Waldstadion on 21 May 1925 with room for 35,000, the Frankfurt ground occupies a former military shooting range. Overcrowding prompted enlargement in 1955, further work came for the 1974 World Cup, and a complete rebuild finished in 2005 produced a football-specific arena with a retractable roof. Eintracht Frankfurt have played here since 1963, and a record 81,000 saw a match against Pirmasens in 1959. The venue staged 2006 World Cup ties, the 2011 Women's World Cup final and five Euro 2024 matches, carrying sponsors' names since 2005.
