About Coliseum

First used for a match on 30 August 1998, the ground on the southern fringe of Madrid was formally inaugurated three days later with a triangular tournament featuring Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Feyenoord. It replaced the demolished Las Margaritas after a temporary spell at Juan de la Cierva, and a roof was subsequently added over the west stand. Carrying the name Coliseum Alfonso Perez until 2023, when the footballer's name was withdrawn, it hosted the 2010 Women's Champions League final and entered a phased rebuild from June 2025.
