About Clandeboye Park
Built by Bangor Borough Council, the County Down ground opened in 1935 and has served Bangor FC ever since. Its playing area was once among the smallest in Irish league football, but it was widened late in the twentieth century once the stock-car racing track that ringed the pitch had been lifted. Ards moved in after being obliged to sell Castlereagh Park in 1998 amid mounting financial trouble, and the club has continued to stage home matches at the venue while looking for a ground of its own.
