About Ceres Park

Approved by Aarhus city council in 1918 and paid for jointly by the municipality and private subscribers, the sports park was inaugurated on Constitution Day in June 1920 in the presence of royalty. It stands on the edge of the Marselisborg Forests south of the city centre. Rebuilding between 1993 and 2001 produced a two-tier main grandstand whose entrances open onto the surrounding woodland, and capacity settled at 19,433 once VIP areas were enlarged. Known successively as Atletion and NRGi Park before taking its current name in 2015, it hosted the 2011 European Under-21 Championship final.
