About Brann Stadion
Christen K. Gran, the club's founder, pushed for the ground at Fridalen, roughly three kilometres south of Bergen's centre, and it was inaugurated on 25 May 1919. Terraces flanked the pitch and a running track circled it, with both ends initially left open. A main stand went up in the 1930s, the north end gained a roofed tier in 1978, and the Umbro Stand was demolished in 2006 to make way for a new main stand with hospitality facilities. Three Norwegian Cup finals and seventeen internationals have been staged here.
