About Bloomfield Road

Gamble's Field was the name this Lancashire site carried in 1899, when play began there; Blackpool settled permanently from the 1901-02 season. Four stands now frame the pitch, three of them rebuilt in stages between 2001 and 2010, while the East Stand remains a temporary structure. A safety certificate issued by the council in 2018 set the total at 16,616. The record crowd of 38,098 watched Wolverhampton Wanderers visit in September 1955.
