About BC Place

Raised beside False Creek in downtown Vancouver, the venue opened in 1983 as the world's largest air-supported domed stadium, its inflatable Teflon roof a landmark built ahead of Expo 86. A 16-month rebuild costing $514 million and completed in 2011 swapped that dome for a cable-supported retractable roof. The ground staged the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics and the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup final, and it also handles Grey Cup finals, large concerts and fixtures at the 2026 World Cup.
