About ATCO Field

Sharing the Spruce Meadows equestrian showgrounds on the southern edge of Calgary, this 6,000-seat ground opened in May 2019 for Cavalry FC's first Canadian Premier League season. A covered grandstand of roughly 4,500 seats runs along the east side, with about 1,500 more behind the two goals, and the modular structure is designed to be enlarged if demand grows. The Southern family financed it privately; ahead of 2021 some nine million Canadian dollars paid for permanent floodlights and new sod. Show jumping still occupies the site for several weeks each year.
