About Arena Pantanal

Groundbreaking took place in May 2010, but the build was disrupted by a fire in October 2013 that took hold in polystyrene insulation panels, and seating was still unfinished when the ground opened on 2 April 2014. The completed stadium cost 646 million reais, holds 42,788 and includes 97 executive suites around a pitch measuring 105 by 68 metres; the state of Mato Grosso owns it. Four group games were played here at the 2014 World Cup with capacity trimmed to 41,390, and five more followed during the 2021 Copa America.
