About Arena Fonte Nova

Rebuilt after the partial collapse of its predecessor in 2007, the Salvador ground reopened in April 2013 with 47,902 seats, retaining the old horseshoe plan that opens towards the Dique do Tororo while gaining a modern roof. Construction started in 2010 and cost about 591 million reais, to designs by Marc Duwe and Claas Schulitz. The 2013 Confederations Cup, the 2014 World Cup, where the Netherlands beat Spain 5-1 here, the 2016 Olympic football tournament and the 2019 Copa America have all used it. Naming rights passed from a brewery to a betting company in 2024.
