About Allianz Arena
Wrapped in 2,760 inflatable ETFE cushions, the Munich ground became the first stadium anywhere able to change the colour of its entire exterior, glowing red, blue or white. Herzog & de Meuron drew the design, and building work ran from late 2002 to April 2005 at a cost of about 286 million euros, consuming 120,000 cubic metres of concrete and 22,000 tonnes of steel. Beneath the structure sits one of Europe's largest underground car parks. The venue has hosted two Champions League finals, matches at Euro 2024 and Germany's first regular-season NFL game.
