About Ahmad bin Ali Stadium

Replacing a predecessor demolished in 2015, the Al Rayyan venue was raised between 2016 and 2020 by Al-Balagh and Larsen & Toubro, then inaugurated on 18 December 2020. A large membrane facade wraps the exterior and doubles as a projection screen, while all 45,032 seats sit under shade. Seven matches of the 2022 World Cup were staged here, along with the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup and later Asian Cup fixtures.
