About Agia Sophia Stadium

Work started in July 2017 on the site of the demolished Nikos Goumas Stadium in Nea Filadelfeia, and the €98.7 million arena opened on 30 September 2022 as the newest large ground in Greece. Its exterior echoes the walls of Constantinople, giving the building a castle-like appearance, and the complex houses a refugees museum, a chapel and forty executive suites. The 32,500-seat bowl hosted the 2024 UEFA Europa Conference League final.
